Julio Montaner, is Professor in the Department of Medicine and Head, UBC Division of AIDS, and the Director of the UBC/Providence Health Care BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS. His work establishes the global standard of care for HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention and he continues to provide leadership in the international HIV/AIDS research community.
His work as a physician, scientist, and advocate has forged an unprecedented new path in the course of HIV treatment, care and prevention, as well as the sustainability of HIV care – starting in the province of British Columbia and expanding across the world.
