Kevin Eva, a Professor in the Department of Medicine and Acting Director of the Centre for Health Education Scholarship, was awarded Honorary Fellowship of the Academy of Medical Educators.
Honorary Fellowship is the highest award of the Academy of Medical Educators. It is intended for exceptional individuals whose contributions to medical education are often internationally recognised and who have made a significant contribution to medical education in the United Kingdom.
Dr. Eva has been Editor-in-Chief of Medical Education, the leading international journal in the field, since 2008. He is also Chair of the Medical Education Assessment Advisory Committee at the Medical Council of Canada and is a founding Co-director of the Maastricht-Canadian Masters of Health Professional Education program.
In recognition of his contributions to medical education, Dr. Eva has received a number of national and international awards including the 2013 John P. Hubbard Award from the National Board of Medical Examiners for outstanding contributions in the field of assessment in medical education. He also received the Outstanding Achievement Award in the Evaluation of Clinical Competence from the Medical Council of Canada, a Distinguished Achievement Award for Excellence in Education from the UBC Faculty of Medicine, the MILES Award for Mentorship, Innovation, the Leadership in Education Scholarship from the Asia-Pacific Medical Education Conference, and the John Ruedy Award for Innovation in Medical Education from the Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada.
