The UBC Faculty of Medicine’s MD Undergraduate Program (MDUP), at The University of British Columbia (UBC), invites applications for the position of IMP TIPP Course Lead.
The TIPP Course Lead facilitates the Transition into Postgraduate Education and Medical Practice (TIPP) course (MEDD 448) for the Island Medical Program (IMP), Faculty of Medicine (FoM), University of British Columbia (UBC). They work in close collaboration with other UBC FoM TIPP Course Leads across the province (in the Vancouver-Fraser Medical Program (VFMP), the Southern Medical Program (SMP) and the Northern Medical Program (NMP) to ensure the goals and objectives of the programs are met.
The appointee will be a practicing local physician or newly retired physician with a commitment to the development of medical education on Vancouver Island, and an open and flexible approach to collaborative leadership within the MD Undergraduate Program.
The term of the appointment is 2-years, subject to a satisfactory performance appraisal at the end of the first year. This appointment is renewable, and the total time commitment is 0.2 FTE, equivalent to approximately 1 day per week or 8 hours per week.
Reports to the Regional Associate Dean, Vancouver Island.
The successful candidate must hold a UBC faculty appointment or be eligible to hold a UBC faculty appointment with a background as a practicing local physician or a recently retired physician committed to the development of medical education on Vancouver Island. The IMP TIPP Course Lead will be a role model who has earned the trust of students and colleagues, and whose sense of duty to patients, families, coworkers, and learners is essential.
