The University of British Columbia, Southern Medical Program (SMP) invites applications for the position of Integrated Community Clerkship (ICC) Site Director, East Kootenays. This is a three-year term appointment with a time commitment of 0.3 FTE, equivalent to 1.5 days per week. The position is based in the East Kootenay Regional Hospital (EKRH).
The Integrated Community Clerkship (ICC) Site Director, East Kootenays, facilitates the UBC Faculty of Medicine Year 3 curricular delivery and implementation at EKRH. This individual works in close collaboration with the Site Directors for other ICC sites through the Interior and through the provincial distribution of the Medical Degree Undergraduate program (MDUP) to ensure the goals, objectives and exit competencies of the clerkship are met Curriculum Management – MedNet.
The incumbent will be a local physician with a commitment to the development of medical education in the region. The incumbent must have sufficient protected time during the working week to fulfill the requirements of this role; there is flexibility regarding meeting times and work completion hours. Applicants must currently hold or be eligible to hold a UBC clinical faculty appointment. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of the MD Undergraduate Program and will demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as proven administrative ability combined with outstanding communication skills.
The Integrated Community Clerkship (ICC) Site Director, East Kootenays, reports directly to the Regional Associate Dean (RAD), Interior and meets regularly with the RAD to ensure clear lines of communication are maintained and mutual needs and expectations are met.
