UBC Master of Occupational Therapy class earns top spot in 2014 gOT Spirit Challenge

gOT SpiritUBC’s Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) class have earned first place in this year’s gOT Spirit Challenge, an annual, nation-wide competition that takes place as part of Occupational Therapy Month celebrations in October.

The competition, which first started in 2009, calls upon occupational therapy students from across Canada to participate and help raise awareness of occupational therapy.

This year, as in the past, UBC MOT students stepped up to the challenge. Dressed as television reporters and presenters, the MOT team put together a lively mock newscast, documenting just how much people really know about occupational therapy.

Their video, which was judged by the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapy (CAOT), earned top spot. Over the course of the upcoming year, it will appear in a number of national communication vehicles and be broadcast at next year’s CAOT Annual Conference, taking place in Winnipeg in May, 2015.

UBC MOT students previously earned top spot in the gOT Spirit Challenge in 2012.
