Fraser Black, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs with the Island Medical Program (IMP), is the recipient of the 2017 Dr. Bruce Crawford Award of Excellence. This annual award, which is voted on by third-year IMP students, recognizes teachers, preceptors, or tutors who have made an impact on students’ first two years of medical training.
“What a wonderful surprise,” said Dr. Fraser Black. “I’m deeply moved, especially as this award comes from the students themselves.”
“I thought about the incredible teachers and mentors who have received the award before me – including, of course, Bruce Crawford himself – and feel honoured to be amongst that recipient group.”
Dr. Black will be formally recognized at the Island Medical Program & Division of Medical Sciences Teaching Awards Recognition Reception in December.
