The Minerva Foundation for B.C. Women has announced the leading British Columbian women who will be honoured for their impact in the science industry at the eighth annual “Women In™” Science luncheon on November 27.
Women In™ is an annual luncheon that recognizes and celebrates women working in non-traditional fields. Each year, the Minerva Foundation honours four women who have made an impact in their communities through leadership, excellence, philanthropy and service. In 2013, the Minerva Foundation will honour women working in science.
The 2013 “Women In™” honourees in the UBC Faculty of Medicine are:
- Philanthropy or Volunteerism Award: Carol Lane, a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pyschiatry
- Emerging Leader Award: Jacquelyn Cragg, a third-year PhD student at the School of Population and Public Health, working with ICORD researchers Jaimie Borisoff, an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Occupational Science & Occupational Therapy, and Andrei Krassioukov, a Professor in the Department of Medicine
