Visiting Professorships in Medical Research

This visiting professorship provides medical students and residents with the opportunity to meet established researchers from other Canadian centres in order to promote medical research as a career choice. The visiting professor interacts with both undergraduate medical students and residents through rounds and other teaching sessions across departments.

Nominations

Deans of the Canadian faculties of medicine can nominate a visiting professor to come to their centre. They submit proposed itinerary, reflecting how the school intends to use the grant and a curriculum vitae of the nominee.

Selection

The Awards Committee, at its annual fall meeting, will select the visiting professors on the basis of the submitted data and its applicability to the defined objectives.

Grant

The Awards Committee selects the visiting professor at its annual fall meeting.

Visiting Professorship

Up to four medical faculties may be chosen each year for a $3000 grant to receive one professor.


The Faculty of Medicine, Dean’s Office, Research will be coordinating these nominations and therefore asks your assistance in supplying nominees for this grant award — Royal College deadline September 1, 2011.
